Katy Melling is a Newcastle based wedding and portrait photographer, working in the north of England and beyond. Offering a contemporary, documentary approach to wedding and portrait photography, she works with you in a gentle and unobtrusive way – providing you with beautiful and memorable images. Wedding Photography

Wedding photography is about forming a relationship between the bridal couple and the photographer. It all begins with a consultation to discuss your ideas for the day, and the kind of images that best suit your personality.
The pre-wedding shoot is one of the most important aspects of arranging your wedding photography. Katy will go through all the details and arrangements for your day, with you. During this time you will be able to see how Katy works, and will feel confident that she will record images that you will love and hold dear for ever. On your wedding day the focus will be on the bridal couple, the events that happen around them and capturing natural, unique images of their day.

Portrait Photography

It is important for Katy to capture images of your individual personality, and therefore she keeps the shoot as informal and relaxed as possible. For this reason, portraits are shot at a location of your choice either in the comfort of your own home or an outside location. Wearing clothes in which you feel most comfortable and in familiar surroundings this will be a fun and memorable experience.
Portrait sessions are not in any way a performance, as Katy prefers to work with natural light and inspirational environments. She works mostly in outdoor settings where you can be free to be yourself, resulting in images which are spontaneous and not over staged. Commercial Photography

Katy has developed a visual appetite for the cost efficient commercial photographic consumer. She has the imagination, creativity, equipment, and knowledge to keep the largest or smallest client happy.
